Lore & Background
The film opens with the magician Dit torturing his former master for the 'Third Eye', a power that would make him a full disciple of the Three-Eyed God. After killing the master, Dit suffers from a rotting wound caused by black magic consuming him. Meanwhile, in a hospital, Miss Panor is strapped to a bed in the psychiatric ward, pregnant. Ten years earlier, Panor had tutored Pen and Ta; Ta's father Prawase poisoned his first wife Duen to marry Panor. Ta's family enlists Dit to transfer Duen's soul into Panor's body, using Ta's blood and a ritual. During the ceremony, Dit sees the Third Eye bulging from Panor's forehead and covets it. Panor's soul is trapped in a mirror, and Duen's soul enters Panor's body, but the red string meant to bind the soul falls off, causing Duen's soul to loosen. The mirror breaks, Panor's soul returns, and Dit flees. Panor then uses black magic to kill family members, including causing Pen's fetus to explode, and burns Ta's skin with a blow torch. A flashback reveals Panor as a child visiting a monk to create a love spell after being bullied. The film ends one year later with Ta meeting his five school friends, beginning Art of the Devil 2.
